A good dress for an ‘alternative’ prom?

Posted on November 15th, 2010 in Uncategorized by wildplus

The alternative prom is a prom that supports gays/lesbians to go to their own school proms. Most schools, like my own, do not let the gays/lesbians attend because of this.
So there will be an alternative prom.
I myself am not lesbian but I do support those who are, and I feel like they are all human beings that should be able to go their proms.

So I will be attending this in honor of a few of my friends, and maybe one that you may have heard of: Carlkr on YouTube? We did theater together :) I love him! ahaha. anyways.

Where to buy a Prom Dress?

Posted on November 15th, 2010 in Uncategorized by wildplus

Prom is in two weeks, and I already got a dress, but no one likes it. Do you know of any retail stores where I can get a fancy prom dress (sequins, beads, rhinestones) for under $175?

I really want a dress that is different than what everyone else has. I live in Atlanta, so the place has to be in Georgia or online.

How much is too much to spend on a dress for your daughter?

Posted on November 15th, 2010 in Uncategorized by wildplus

I was talking to my mom the other day and she was kind of in a huff because my aunt was venting about buying my cousin a fancy dress for homecoming. Apparently the dress she wanted was quite expensive ($200 I think) and my mother was kind ranting that she would never have spent that much on a dress for me. Well, I laughed at her and said that it was easy for her to say because I was into the “Vintage” look (i.e. I only bought dresses from second hand stores) when I was in high school (I’m out now) so my dance dresses were always cheap. Then I told her I believed she might have had a spending limit but that I was certain it would have been pretty high. Then I listed all the examples of how I was spoiled as a teenager. (my mom says I wasn’t spoiled I was a good kid and deserved the things I was given)

But the conversation got me wondering, how much is too much to spend on a homecoming or prom dress for your daughter? Is there a limit? This is assuming money isn’t tight etc.
Okay, sorry I wasn’t clear but this is really more of a personal survey, what would you consider too much to spend?

Really cheap prom dress–can this be real?

Posted on November 15th, 2010 in Uncategorized by wildplus

I’m a big bargain hunter, so the price of prom dresses (well, prom in general) disturbs me. My cousin told me she got her dress direct from China so she got it cheap. I found this one that I really like and am ready to buy: http://wedding_dress.china-direct-buy.com/v/4/product_detail/6997477/Wedding_Dress_PQ19.htm

How can I know it’s legitimate? It’s only $20, but I still want to know that I’m not being cheated. Also, in your opinion, should I buy it?
I think this link is better: http://wedding_dress.china-direct-buy.com/v/4/product_detail/6997477/Wedding_Dress_PQ19.html
