Cheap Prom Dresses

Here’s the deal.
I’m going to homecoming in about a month, and I’m thinking of dresses I could wear.
I don’t want something too formal that looks like a prom dress.
So I was thinking something like a long, flowing, chiffon dress.

I wear a size 14/16 dress and I don’t look good in short dresses (which are the homecoming norm.)

Do you think a dress like that would look appropriate for someone of my size going to homecoming and NOT prom ?
I don’t want to look TOO formal.

I like the dress, but I want some other opinions.
